Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluations

Your provider will conduct a careful review of your history and symptom assessment  in order to form a diagnosis.   

Brief Psychotherapy

We do not offer stand-alone therapy at this time but combine psychotherapeutic interventions within medication management appointments. Our practice focuses on present day, solution-focused therapies informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and others.

Please note, the following services are not provided at this time:

  • Letters for emotional support animals 

  • Disability evaluations, 

  • Evaluations related to child custody

  • Evaluations related to appropriateness of returning to work/possessing a firearm/operating a vehicle, etc.,

  • Court-ordered treatment.

Psychiatric Medication Management

If indicated, your provider will discuss evidence-based medication recommendations to treat your ongoing symptoms. Your provider will work closely with you to understand your treatment goals, address any concerns you may have, and carefully educate you on medication options.

Capacity Evaluations

Dr. Kristine Simpson performs Professional Evaluations for residents in Clark County, Washington at the request of Court Visitors and Attorneys representing respondents in Guardianship and Conservatorship cases.

Professional evaluations include the following:

  • Discussion with Court Visitor or Attorney regarding case specifics

  • Interview of the respondent

  • Preparation of Professional Evaluation report

  • Administration of psychological and cognitive tests which may include:

    • Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test, Revised (KBIT-2)

    • Wide Range Achieving Test, 5th edition (WRAT-5)

    • Independent Living Scales (ILS)

    • Aldenbrook’s Cognitive Exam, 3rd edition (ACE-III)

    • Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA)

    • Cognistat

Rates

All independent providers with Portland Psychiatric Collective accept patients on select health insurance plans as well as individuals wishing to pay privately for their care.

Insurance Information

Matthew Crabtree is in network with the following insurance plans:

  • Regence/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Pacific Source, and Providence Health Plans.

Andrea Hughes is in network with the following insurance plans:

  • Regence/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Pacific Source, and Providence Health Plans.

Kristine Simpson is in network with the following insurance plans:

  • Regence/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Moda, Pacific Source, and Providence Health Plans.

For patients with health insurance plans not listed above, please contact the provider to determine if they are able to bill your insurance as an out-of-network provider.  

Please note all insurance carriers require a psychiatric diagnosis be assigned to a patient in order for reimbursement.  If you are using insurance benefits to pay for services, please understand that information will be released to the insurance provider. Most commonly this includes dates and types of services provided and diagnoses. The insurance company may also request copies of the clinical notes at various times.

Out of Pocket Fees

For patients wishing to pay out-of-pocket for services the following rates show the range of fees between individual providers  

  • Initial intake appointments $400

  • Follow up appointments $150-$350 based on type of service provided

Please contact each provider to discuss their rates.  Payments are due at time of service.  Each patient paying privately will be provided with a Good Faith Estimate.

Alternatively, patients can pay up-front for services and be provided with an invoice, also known as a “super bill,” to be submitted to their insurance for reimbursement.  Reimbursement amounts vary by insurance and each patient is responsible for verifying their coverage.
